Desperate Housewives…Who’s going to die?

Monday, March 16th, 2009

I am about to talk about tonight’s Desperate Housewives. Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned!

desperatehousewivesdeadTonight’s episode was great in my opinion. It was funny, cute, real, and of course spooky (you know, a little scary). They have been dragging out David’s agenda for quite some time now. It looks like the next episode is going to be the tell-all-be-all. What really got me going were the previews for next week! A housewife is going to die? So who? Either Catherine because David wants to kill her or Edie because she’s definitely leaving the show (no?). Honestly, I don‘t want either of them to go. They’ve grown on me. I think I’ll be even more pissed if Catherine dies. Really pissed. Why does someone have to die on like every season of this show? (lol). Waiting till next Sunday…or whenever I end up watching.

Let’s talk about some crazy (Top Model/Lindsay Lohan style)

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

It only makes sense to put this weekend’s Top Model and Lindsay Lohan story into one. After all, they both involve dumb decisions and someone getting arrested (sort of).

topmodelcrazyLet’s talk about America’s Next Top Model auditions first. Yesterday, three people were arrested and six were injured while waiting to audition for the show’s 13th cycle in New York. Seriously? Apparently the audition was eventually shut down because it wasn’t “organized properly.” By the way, did you know that next season of America’s Top Model is only going to be people 5′7” and under? Tyra’s trying to spice things up. Speaking of spicy things, I watched this season’s Top Model premiere and there may just be someone I’m rooting for. I have to give Tyra props here. 12 seasons of a show later and she still manages to keep things interesting. We’ll see where things go.

lindsaylohancrazyDid you hear about the warrant for Lindsay Lohan’s arrest? Something to do with violating her probation? There’s lots of stories out there, including [another] fight with her girlfriend. Honestly I don’t even want to talk about it. Lindsay needs to start making better headlines. She went from respectable into the “socialite” category. Time to bring things back. Mean Girls 2.0. You can do it. I haven’t given up. She’s from Long Island after all!

beyoncehelloGotta feel you and be near you
You’re the air that I breathe to survive
Gotta hold you, wanna show you
That without you my sun doesn’t shine
You don’t have to try so hard for me to love you
Boy, without you my life just ain’t the same
You don’t have to try so hard for me to love you
You had me at hello

I don’t know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I’d have to say it has a lot to do with fear.

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

greysanatomyfearI don’t know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I’d have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you’re wrong? What if you’re making a mistake you can’t undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can’t pretend we hadn’t been told. We’ve all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today’s possibility under tomorrow’s rug until we can’t anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, most intractable mistake, beat the hell out of never trying.

That new Pussycat Dolls/Slumdog Millionaire song and video.

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

The Pussycat Dolls did their own version of Jai Ho from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack. Their song is called Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny). I heard it a couple of weeks ago and absolutely thought it was destruction. But after seeing them perform it at the New York Britney Spear’s concert (their first time performing it live ever), I’m starting to come around. The video doesn’t hurt either. Well played. I’ll see how I feel about it a bit later. I also just want to say that they could have potentially killed this song (and I’m sure many people do). At the end of the day I guess it just celebrates Slumdog Millionaire even more so whatever. Enjoy the video below!

Leighton Meester is getting busier. Yess.

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

leightonmeestergettingbusyLeighton Meester (Blair from Gossip Girl) has just signed on to be in the movie, The Roommate. It’s something about college. This is pretty fresh. Not only this and Gossip Girl, but she may also appear in a movie opposite Zac Efron. A modern day Beauty and the Beast deal called Beastly. I’d watch it. This all has to happen around Gossip Girl shootings. Should be fun. Looking forward to more work from this girl. Hokai!

Izzy/Grey’ Anatomy/Sadness

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

Warning: I am about to talk about this week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.

izzygreysThis week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy was pretty damn revealing (and I loved it). As upset as Izzy’s storyline is making me, I am loving the way it is unfolding. In case you’re behind, Izzy has officially been diagnosed (after originally being misdiagnosed by an intern) with a fatal skin cancer (metastatic melanoma) that is quickly spreading to her brain. It also only has a 5% survival rate. It basically looks like Izzy (Katherine Heigl) is not going to make it past this season (aka another cast departure). I wish it wasn’t this way but maybe it’s best for the show. Or maybe Grey’s time is coming to an end… I mean how many original cast depatures can fans really put up with? 1. 2. 3rd time may not be the charm. I hope there’s hope for Izzy. It would be really interesting to see her fight this. I absolutely loved that Izzy chose to tell Christina, of all people, first. That ending scene in that generator-air-blowing room (what the hell is that room even called?) was beautiful. Loved it.

As for Derek and Meredith drama…although it’s definitely “been there done that” I am intrigued. Looks like the tables have turned and it’s Meredith’s time to fight for the relationship. Other tidbit comments: Callie’s lesbo storyline is kind of boring me. The chief is a little brat. Christina and the red head might be interesting. George is kind of useless lately. Bailey…blah. All eyes on Izzy.

I don’t think next week’s episode is new. How annoying. Keep me coming back for more Grey’s. Please.

My name is Adnan and I am Starbucks obsessed.

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

starbucksobsessedThere have been many instances that inspired this post. Like the time(s) I drove in rain and thunder just to get Starbucks. Or the time(s) I’ve arrived to Starbucks 10 minutes (or less) before it closed. Or maybe me just getting more drinks than I actually need because I get worried that I won’t have time for a Starbucks run the next day. Maybe the fact that the employees at the Starbucks near my school know me/recognize my voice at the drive-thru window. In fact, right before I came home for spring break, one of the employees told me, “Have a great break and we’ll see you when you get back. Tell your parents we said hey.” I responded by saying “Haha you too and I will.” What I should have said was, “my parents say hi to you every single day.”

Tonight I was craving some Starbucks at 10:30 pm. I went to the store in my town (in Long Island) and they were closed. I was so upset because the one at my school closes at 11pm (Hi Starbucks, how about having universal hours? Thankss). I ended up going home and calling every Starbucks near me until I found one that closed at 11. I found a really close one and guess who made it with only 5 minutes to spare? Needless to say I got my two venti iced dolche leche and bounced. I drank one and the other one’s in the fridge. It’ll be gone before noon tomorrow, I can promise promise you that.

So yeah… my name is Adnan and I am Starbucks obsessed :)

Today’s MRI and tomorrow

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

I’ve been dealing with some rather serious lower back pain since I decided to run around with little kids on my back in January (family party, lots of kids, just playing and having fun…aka running up and down the house, throwing kids in the air and catching them, piggy-backs, all the works). I loved every minute with these kids. If you didn’t know, I really love children. Nothing makes me smile like a baby who is smiling or giggling/laughing uncontrollably. On my way to class one day, I passed a children’s hospital where kids were playing outside. I just stood in the wings watching because it made me smile. I probably looked like such a creeper. I love them, but please, not that way. That’s just effed up.

So anyway, while I’m home for break, my parents and I both decided it’s time to get to the bottom of things. I was going into my MRI (that big tube machine where you go completely in) and I started freaking out. I got really closterphobic and just started squirming. Thankfully they were able to make it so that I could go feet first. Once I was in, the radiologist put headphones on my ears. It was tuned into the worst radio station ever. Seriously, the 25 minutes I spent in this machine was just awful. I never want to be in one of those things again…and not just because of the music…Although I wish I had my iPod or at least Z100 (my kind of radio).

Nothing to worry about though. Just need to do some healing. Healing. That’ll be nice.

Britney’s If You Seek Amy Video!

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Britney’s new video for If You Seek Amy is finally here. I think it’s hot, it’s cute, it’s Britney. The Circus video was definitely a lot more exciting (just because it was about so much more than just a song) but I think this video is great for the song. Britney looks effing hot. Go go goooo!
