This picture of Britney Spears with her boys at Disney World (this past Thursday) puts the biggest smile on my face. Look how cute and happy those kids look. And that smile on Britney’s face = priceless.

Leighton Meester Interview with Seventeen!

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

leightonmeesterHere’s something to make you love Leighton Meester (plays Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl). I chose some of my favorite questions and answers. I really love her outlook on life. I totally see eye to eye. Enjoy and make sure you check out the March 2009 issue of Seventeen magazine for more! BTW, doesn’t she look gorgeous/so cute?

How open were your parents with you about their past?
It wasn’t like a topic of conversation usually–but I was aware of it. There was never any reason to feel ashamed of it or be secretive–I never thought it was that crazy. But half of what people know, they can’t understand because they don’t know the circumstances. My mom’s such an incredible woman–she’s gone through a lot. And all of this has made us the type of people who appreciate what we have. It’s made our family pretty strong.

What do you think you’ve learned from your parents’ mistakes?
It made me realize that you can’t judge anyone–especially your parents–for what they’ve done in their past, because people change. I’ve noticed some people get very enthralled with people bashing. Sometimes people can’t help themselves. But I find a way to back out and not talk about other people. Even when people are so judgemental about what you wear or your weight, you just have to step away and be like, I’m a normal, fine human being.

Did you ever get a little wild in high school?
No. I mean, there were drugs and stuff, but everybody who I was friends with didn’t do it, so I wasn’t even around it. High school was me being a dork and studying. I only went there until my junior year–then I just dropped out and didn’t go back for my last year. But I had already gotten my diploma.

Why didn’t you finish high school?
I was very passionate about pursuing my acting career, as opposed to the daily routine of high school, which bored me to death. It was a chore–I wasn’t in any after-school clubs. The only thing I did after school was go to auditions.

Who’s the leader of your castmates?
We’re all very close. I guess Blake would be more of the planner. She’s very maternal. I’ll just go where the other guys are going–I just go with the flow.

Do you have a big group of friends?
I have a very small group of friends. I don’t want to have a friend unless I can call them one of my best friends. I want somebody to be really close and cool. I want friends who are kind of like me, who go with the flow and like to have fun. I think it’s important to trust your friends. It’s especially hard in this business when you know that people are not always who they seem.

Are you the kind of person who always has a boyfriend?
I haven’t ever really relied on relationships with guys. I’ve only ever really been with a couple of them. They come around and it’s cool, but it’s never been a big thing. I guess I’ve just been really distracted by work.

Have you ever had your heart broken?
Definitely. But a lot of times, you’re breaking your own heart. I think women have a sense about things–it’s like when I’ve ever been with somebody who lied to me. There comes a point when you’re lying to yourself [by staying with a guy like that]. It’s not like he’s going to stop. But all of this has made me grow up in the way that I look at guys and love. It made me realize what kind of person I am. Now I have certain requirements.

What are your requirements?
I need to live my life. I want to experience a lot and don’t want to have to be tied down. If somebody can join me on that, then that’s great. But I want to do so many things–and maybe someday a lot of it will be impossible, but right now I don’t see the impossible.

Ask Adnan: What is Toxic VIP at Britney Spears?

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

toxicvipI had “Toxic VIP” tickets to Britney’s show in Atlanta on Thursday and I know a lot of people are wondering what exactly it is. I’ll tell you that now! The toxic VIP package includes an exclusive messenger bag and commemorative ticket stock (fancy ticket) as well as a pre-show party, backstage tour, and a parking ticket. You also get some silly accessories like buttons and a key chain. The biggest perk of the Toxic VIP is the excellent floor standing seats (right in front of one of the side stages). These tickets are in front of the general admission section of the floor and right behind the ringside seats on the floor. The pre-show party was just a room where you hung out and ate some appetizers (it was a little tacky)…there are also some people who open the show who hang around here (super friendly people who just want to make sure you’re getting the most out of your experience). The highlight was definitely the backstage tour where we got to see wardrobe, hair & makeup, and even got to see some of the dancers for the show. We also got to see the crew setting up the stage for a bit (and got to preview our seats). Toxic VIP promises great seats (especially when Britney comes to the stage you are near). If you have Toxic VIP, you are bound to have an excellent time. I know I did! I hope this was helpful to everyone else who has also purchased Toxic VIP experience packages.

Remember to check the email that you bought your tickets with for the details on your VIP package. All the info I needed about the merchandise, parking, where to meet, etc were all in the emails. Have an amazing show (I know you will)! :)

Ask Adnan: Britney Spears VIP Stool Seat Details

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

vipstoolOne of you asked me for more details regarding the VIP stool seats at the Britney Spears concerts and here it is. These are a limited number of seats that are more so at the front and back of the stage (as opposed to ringside seats which circle all around the three stages). They are excellent seats and I could even go as far to argue that they have an advantage over ringside seats. Why? Because with the ringside seats, the video screen is directly in front of you and you’re only able to see one [blinding] section of the video. I think the VIP stool seats are the perfect closeness/distance from the stage. As for standing, the security had no problem with ringside people standing and moving closer to the stage. I am almost positive that people with VIP stool seats were also allowed to stand. Basically these are amazing seats and anyone with any kind of VIP-anything is in for an amazing time with Britney and The Pussycat Dolls! I hope this was helpful!

In the picture above, VIP stool seats are located right behind the gold chairs (ringside seats).

Britney in Atlanta > Britney in New Orleans

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Last night was the Atlanta show of Britney Spears’ Circus tour and I have to say, it was better than Tuesday at New Orleans! Why was it better? I think Britney got the confidence boost she needed from Tuesday’s show. I also thought the Atlanta fans were a lot more engaged! People were singing along more and just screaming more in general! My favorite part was when the crowd was screaming so loud that it put such a big smile on Britney’s face. The crowd just would not stop screaming at one point and Britney had to be like “Okay okay stop!” with a big smile (in a very good way, not a bitchy way like it sounds). The show was incredible and I’ve made even the biggest of Britney un-believers believe because of last night. Incredible. I am so sad that I only have one show left.

As for Toxic VIP: The seats were standing right in front of one of the smaller stages. I’d say Britney spends an equal amount of time on both smaller stages, and most time on the big round stage. I loved the backstage tour.

You still find yourself scared of the dark…

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

darkWhen you’re little, night time is scary because there are monsters hiding right under the bed. When you get older, the monsters, are different… self doubt, loneliness, regret… and though you may be older and wiser, you still find yourself scared of the dark.

Reese Witherspoon opens up in new interview! So real.

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

reesewitherspoonDon’t you just love Reese Witherspoon? Honestly, she’s one of my favorite actresses and Legally Blonde is one of my favorite movies of all time. Here’s a new interview Reese Witherspoon had with Elle. (OMG, Elle, like in Legally Blonde! alright that’s enough.)

On her divorce with Ryan Phillippe: Very humiliating and very isolating…But, by the way, if it’s not painful, maybe it wasn’t the right decision to marry to begin with. Those are the appropriate emotions. When people get in your face and say, ‘This will pass,’ you think, Are they crazy? I’m never gonna feel any better than I feel right this minute and nothing’s ever gonna make sense again. And I still have moments where I’m like, Nothings ever gonna make sense again.

On dealing with the split: You see a lot of people play this blame game. Blame, blame, blame. You know? And it’s a really easy thing to do, and I’m certainly guilty of it. [You have to] look at yourself and go, ‘What part of this do I need to own? Which part of this is my responsibility? And that’s the painful work that you have to go through to hopefully get some real life knowledge out of it.

On being a mama: When I first had Ava, I couldn’t afford [help]. And it was so hard. I was out in Los Angeles, living [away from my family]. I really didn’t have any friends. And I had a baby. No one else who was 22 had a baby. I couldn’t go out.

On being an alleged “control freak”: I don’t think I’m a control freak. I think I’m just fearful. I operate from a lot of fear, like, of things being lost or forgotten or neglected. Losing the spiritual rather than the physical. It’s so funny to me that somehow I’ve been portrayed as a very, like, closed-off or uptight person. I’m very open.

On the paparazzi: Fascination is gonna die off. I honestly know it. But it’s just like I keep waiting and waiting, and then it’s just more tabloid magazines, and it keeps going. I don’t take a shower everyday. I don’t put on makeup everyday. I wear a lot of sunglasses, in case you noticed.

On boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal: He’s fabulous. He really is a fantastic guy.

On crazy dieting: I’m made of cookies after the holidays. Everything inside me is made of sugar and flour and a little red wine–a lot of red wine.

I’ll probably have more pictures/things to say after the next two shows, but if you want to keep up with the Britney stuff, it’ll be here on the main page as well as to your top right titled “My Circus Journey.” It’s just easy access to all things Britney/Circus. 1 down, 2 to go: Britney’s Opening Night (short hand review+pictures)

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

I just got back to my hotel room and I don’t even know where to begin. Basically I thought Britney killed it. This show was amazing. But you know what, it wasn’t just Britney who made the show what it was. It was the dancers. It was all the special effects and tricks (and man, were there a lot of them). But back to Britney. I was so happy with all the songs she chose to perform (and it was not limited to the set list released by BritneySpears.com). The costumes were effing fantastic. And she looked so beautiful. I am proud of Britney Spears. After having the world witness some personal mishaps, she was able to put on a show like this. I think she forgot what it felt like to perform in front of thousands of people and something tells me the next few shows will be even better.

I am trying to think what others might have thought of the show. I feel like people are definitely going to say that she doesn’t dance as much as she used to, but I was happy with it. I am really excited to go to the next 2 shows and see it all over again. A part of me still can’t believe I flew to New Orleans for Britney, but I am so glad I did. I felt like a part of history.

I do have to say this though: I think with any concert, the crowd definitely sets the tone. I’ve never really been to concerts outside of New York/New Jersey (I’m from NY) and I must say I thought the crowd could have been more excited. Don’t get me wrong, they were screaming a lot, but not enough. I love the crowds that just go crazy over absolutely everything (like they do in NY). It gives you goose bumps. I’m excited to see the difference in the Atlanta and NY shows.

As for my seat…Fucking amazing. I was so close to the stage that whenever the curtain or video screen went down, it would hit my head. Amazing. Not to mention, my seat was a couch. I had a golden cup holder for crying out loud.

I was able to take a few good shots (in my opinion lol) and am going to post those now! I’ll post a more detailed step-by-step review after the pictures :)
