Where to buy Alien/Peace T-Shirt from Beyonce’s “Video Phone” Video!

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

beyonce-video-phone-alien-shirtI said I wouldn’t make any new posts until I was done with the new launch of the site (coming so soon), but I couldn’t not post this find. Basically if you haven’t seen Beyonce’s Video Phone video, you need to get on that ASAP. I love it. But what I loved more was this t-shirt she was wearing of an alien with sex earrings and “peace” written on it. After searching all over the web for over an hour (and finding out who else has worn the shirt), I have spotted a location! The shirt can be found at the link below. I know so many of you are wanting it too. It just does something for me. The shirt is made by Gerlan Jeans and is one size fits all (not sure how that’s going to work exactly lol). Oh and it’s like $185.00. Ouch!

Click here to buy the Alien/Peace shirt from Beyonce’s Video Phone video!

P.S. You know everyone else would probably never share this with you because they want it exclusively, but I want everyone to be as happy as I’ll be when I have the shirt (2 days)! I know Beyonce fans like the back of my hand, so enjoy my fellow B-mates! :)

And here’s a link to watch Video Phone (the higher quality video can’t be embed).

The 2009 VMA’s. Kanye is trash. Beyonce and Taylor Swift quite the opposite.

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Last night’s MTV Video Music Awards was probably the most entertaining yet. There were so many things to look forward to and I can’t say I’m disappointed. The show was dedicated to Michael Jackson, but the most talked about/tweeted/facebooked event was most definitely Taylor Swift’s snub via Kanye West and Beyonce’s brilliant [and expected] fix at the end. I’m just gonna do a break down of my favorite parts of the show now. But let me just say, with everything that went down…it’s like Michael Jackson was watching.

Madonna’s speech about Michael Jackson: This was a really great and emotional speech. Madonna not only gave one hell of a tribute to Michael, but she also talked of her similar experience under the magnifying glass. The “Michael Jackson not having a childhood” and “us giving up on him” truly made you think. I was touched. “Long live the King.” (P.S. Anyone notice during the pre-show how Katy Perry gave away the fact that Madonna was somehow part of the MJ tribute? MTV cut her off in the interview but most caught it, I’m sure.)

Janet Jackson/Michael Jackson tribute opening: Let’s give it up for all of those dancers on the stage who blew up the roof. I think my favorite parts were when you could see the dancers against the screen doing the exact same moves as Michael at the exact same time. That was special. Then Janet finally came out and it was probably the most energy I’ve ever seen Janet have in a performance. She really seemed to be trying to capture Michael’s essence on the stage and it was beautiful. They also showed Janet dancing against the screen and it was near perfect. Between Madonna’s speech and Janet&crew’s performance, all too wonderful. R.I.P. Michael Jackson.

picture-18EXACTLY what happened with Taylor Swift/Beyonce/Kanye: Let’s just say what happened first. It’s time for Best Female video and it’s between Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift (and maybe someone else). Taylor Swift wins. She comes up in shock (she even said during a pre-show interview that she had no chance against Lady Gaga and Beyonce). Taylor starts to give an adorable speech about how unexpected it was. Somehow Kanye gets on stage and says to Taylor, “Sorry I’ll let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.” The screen jumps to Beyonce who looks mortified that something like this just happened. Taylor just stood there and literally didn’t even finish her speech. Look at this bitch (right) taking the microphone from Taylor Swift. RUDE! I gave you the breakdown, now here are my exact thoughts:

My thoughts on Taylor/Beyonce/Kanye: I’m going to echo the sentiments of celebrities and fans across the world, but I’m going to do it my own way. First let me just say that Kanye West is a DICK and a classless piece of trash. He’s known for his outbursts and being upset over not winning awards, but this time it wasn’t even in a category he was ELIGIBLE for. It was female video. He had no place to even be on stage let alone interrupt poor Taylor Swift while she was winning her very first Video Music Award. Her first VMA is going to be remembered with this asshole taking the stage. The only thing that can actually describe how angry I was are the outraged tweets of fans and celebrities on the internet. They, together, capture my frustration. Who the hell does Kanye West think he is? Save your thoughts for a bitter blog post, don’t get on stage and take something away from someone you fucking asshole. Your girlfriend needs to get you a leash.

picture-14How Beyonce fixed everything/thoughts: After Taylor’s ruined moment, the whole night I was thinking to myself, “you know what would be perfect…if Beyonce won and invited Taylor to the stage.” And you know what happened? Exactly that. I swear, ask my friend who I was watching with, when Beyonce won the award for Video of the Year, I was saying outloud, “say something about Taylor, say something.” And she did. Beyonce said, “Thank you. I remember being 17-years-old, up for my first MTV Award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments in my life. So I’d like Taylor to come out and have her moment.” And it was perfect. There’s a reason I was expecting something like that and that’s because it is Beyonce. I have never seen a celebrity display more humbleness than this girl right here. Every time she takes the stage, it is always with grace, appreciation, and humility. Whether it’s a tribute to Barbara Streisand or performing with the winner of a British singing competition. Beyonce, I’ve seen you 4 times (this year, 11 total) all over the country. It’s fact that you are my favorite artist of all time. And if it’s possible, I love you even more for your kind gesture and class yesterday. Well done. Thank you B. Fun fact: During the pre-show, Beyonce was asked which of the 9 awards she would like to win most and she said Video of the Year. And that’s what she got. Holler.

I see Kanye’s point, but no: I have to say that I also thought Beyonce was going to win the award over Taylor Swift. Why? Well, I don’t know…I guess when you have a music video that turns into an internet sensation (think fans, YouTube, and a whole lot of “Single Ladies” moves). The single and video were absolutely huge. And now that I think about it, “Video of the Year” does sound more appropriate.

Beyonce/Taylor Swift = My Heroes: When these two were on the stage at the end, both in red, I couldn’t help but think that two of my favorite people are on stage together. These girls are such good role models for the future and I am so glad there are people like them in an industry that I am captivated by. I’m going to show clips from this night to my kids in the future to teach them what is good and bad. Thank you ladies.

Taylor Swift performing in the NYC subway: All I can say is, Taylor Swift…you would. This girl so would have a performance in a New York City subway –> on top of a taxicab. Who else was concerned? lol. Quick mention: this whole Kanye thing happened literally right before her performance and it looks like Taylor turned her negative energy into a positively stunning performance. Well done girl!

Lady GaGa, I’m finally getting her: I’ve loved Lady GaGa’s music since I heard it but I never really got my mind around the fashion choices…until last night. She really is about the performance and making you think. I can honestly say that I am now looking forward to say what GaGa’s going to come up with next. Oh and the bleeding during the performance…crazy but loves it.

picture-19Pink’s acrobatic/airy performance: I just love Pink. It was such a daring performance and she really just commit herself completely to it. Pink is stepping this shit up and has really found her own place in the music industry. Loves her.

picture-20Jay-Z and Alicia Keys in an “Empire State of Mind”: Jay. The entrance. The song. Alicia Keys. I was just about to type that I’m surprised “Empire State of Mind” isn’t on iTunes Top 10 (because I checked earlier)…and after checking again…it’s #5. Point in case.

Twilight New Moon: I’m not one of those Twilight crazies you always hear about. I even saw the first one. Was never understanding this New Moon hype until last night. That extended trailer looked awesome. Add that to the to-do list.

Oh and Tracy Morgan and Eminem’s bit was pretty damn cute. And doesn’t Eminem just seem different? in a good way?

I’m sure there’s a billion other things that happened last night..but if it didn’t make the list above then I must really be forgetting something because these were all the moments that made my jaw drop/heart warm up.

Let’s talk about Beyonce in Vegas. An intimate affair it was.

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

Last night I saw Beyonce perform at one of her very special Vegas “I Am Yours” show and it was everything I expected it to be and more. The theatre (which had less than 1500 seats) was the smallest venue I’ve ever seen an artist like Beyonce perform at. It literally felt like she was performing at my high school auditorium (albeit, a lot more classier..duh)

She opened the show with “Hello” and came walking down the stairs from the audience. She shook hands with tons of fans in the aisle and it was just so nice. The show started off with the slower songs, including songs she’s never sang live such as Scared of Lonely, That’s Why You’re Beautiful, Resentment (UH-MAZING), and Satellites. it was so special to see these songs performed live.

She then picked up the pace of the show by basically telling her story of how she got where she is today. With every story came the songs that surrounded that situation. She told several personal stories of her struggles and success, including some about her father (who we saw walking around the audience…as well as her mother Tina and that cousin of hers you always see). One story involved an audition for a record label where her father interupted and said, “Beyonce, did you go swimming last night? Because it sounds like you have snot in your nose.” The audience laughed and so did she. BTW, she was 9 years old at this audition.

She also spoke a lot of Destiny’s Child (”Without Destiny’s Child there is no Beyonce” she said). She talked about all of the changes with the group (”And then there were three.”) She sang basically every Destiny’s Child hit (well bits and pieces of them all like she usually does, but a lot more stories/intros to them). My favorite was of course for “Survivor” (”For the people who’ve dealt with sexists, racists, or just a hater.”). When talking about her struggle, she talked about losing on Star Search, getting dropped from the first label her group was ever signed to, and then finally signing with Columbia in 1997. This is also really the first time I’ve seen Beyonce really talk about all the changes that Destiny’s Child went through throughout the years (members dropping, members being added). She also talked about the media and different types of experiences that led her to write some of the hits Destiny’s Child and Beyonce enjoyed today.

Beyonce also talked about how she spent so much time on her career that it made her kind of lonely. That was until 2002 when she found love, she said. Then she sang a piece of “03 Bonnie & Clyde” and asked the ladies to help her. She then did the signature Jay Z hand move (the one she does at the end of every concert) but this time with the most adorable smile on her face.

She talked about working so hard on her first solo effort and how her label said that “Dangerously In Love” didn’t have even one hit on it. Beyonce then said, “I guess they were right…it had 5.” (Crazy in Love, Baby Boy, Me Myself & I, Naughty Girl, Dangerously in Love). You tell them B.

Basically last night was Beyonce at her very best. The night was advertised as “a showcase of her artistic talent like never before” and that’s just what it was. She paid tributes to all the greats that inspired her since she was a child (”By the age of 5 I knew what I wanted to do, be a singer.”)

I think the best part of last night was just an insight into Beyonce and her story. There is no question that Beyonce is a phenomonon and one of the biggest artists today. But what’s so great is that Beyonce acknowledges her struggle and that it certainly was not an easy road to get where she is now. Last night showed an even more humble side of Beyonce that you just don’t get to see. Most importantly and true with every show, Beyonce leaves you feeling inspired. She makes you feel that you can get everything you ever wanted if you just work your hardest.

You’d think that after seeing Beyonce for the 11th time that I’d get bored. I never get bored. A Beyonce show always gets me going. This was my favorite concert of all time. So thankful I was able to be in the third row. Keep doing what you do best B.

So what’s going to be different about Beyonce’s 4 Vegas shows? I’m going, BTW.

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

beyoncelasvegasSo seeing Beyonce for the third time on her “I Am…” tour last night (in NJ) was just as exciting as seeing it the first time (in NY). At the end of the show Beyonce said this was her last show in America which really got me thinking that this Vegas show is going to be something spectacular. I can’t believe I’m about to see Beyonce for the 4th time in 2009, but I just had to. I can’t not know what’s going down in Vegas. I think what people need to understand is that…concerts are my hobby. It’s a mad expensive one, but it’s one that has the most value/sentiment for me.

So what’s different about Beyonce’s 4-night stay in Vegas? I’ve confirmed a few details such as the fact that the show is specially choreographed just for the Encore Theatre (part of the Wynn Hotel)..I guess that’s what Beyonce’s doing with the week in between last night’s show and the first Vegas show. The show is also only going to be 1.5 hours as opposed to the 2 hour-and-change “I Am…” concert. And of course probably the biggest difference is that the audience will only consist of 1500 people, as opposed to the usual 10,000-20,000 during the “I Am…” tour. So basically this show WILL be different from the “I Am…” tour and I guess it’s just a matter of going to find out the rest.

I am super excited. I’ll be going this coming Friday, July 31st. And I’ll be in the 3rd row in orchestra right…3 seats from the center aisle. I don’t know how I got such great seats so late, but I’m thankful. See you there. Excited like hell.

For anyone else that may still be interested, you can still get [only] floor seats for $1100 each by going to the Ticketmaster website or by calling an Encore Theatre representativeyou’ll get MUCH BETTER seats if you call in. Same price either way.

Beyonce just touched my face while singing to me. I may never wash my face again. “I Am…” Tour Opening Night Review at MSG in NYC.

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

2Yesterday was Beyonce’s opening night for the U.S. leg of her “I Am…” Tour and well… I was right there! And I mean right there. It was at Madison Square Garden in NYC. I had these special “on-stage” tickets that literally allowed me to lean on the stage (the one Beyonce ran on, rolled on, danced on, basically OWNED on). It was called the “Diva Zone” and it was basically a pit in front of the front row. It was everything I wanted and so much more. This show was phenomonal. And my seats basically just made it all that better. OBVIOUSLY touching Beyonce’s hand twice and then having her put her hand around my face (right side of face to be exact) while singing to me was a kicker too. Seriously. I don’t even remember what song it was during. It was like I went deaf for a second while I just stood there in shock/awe/complete happiness. I really hope I don’t sound like a creeper. She’s just such an inspiration. I’m a really big fan, but I am so not at that creeper/stalker level. It’s a fan thing!

1I’m not a huge fan of long reviews of concerts (because there’s nothing like actually being there…) but basically it was everything I expected from Beyonce and more. I’ve been to every tour this girl has been on since she’s gone solo (twice for each tour actually..and obviously the Destiny’s Child concerts) and she brought it all. The favorite songs, the DC CLASSICS, hot OUTFITS, the ALL-FEMALE BAND, amazing DANCERS, over-the-top PRODUCTION (she basically raised to the roof and air-walked to a middle stage…she did some flips too..she hovered over the entire floor audience…SICK), the ENERGY, the VOICE, SashaFierce, and of course, Beyonce. Oh and Jay Z totally showed up to help out Beyonce with “Crazy in Love” at the beginning. I know what you’re thinking and yes it was as hot as it sounds. If you haven’t seen Beyonce before, this is a great tour to start on. If you have seen her before, like me, then you must be more than just the average fan…in which case you would definitely want to see this.

4This statement just needs it’s own paragraph. The VOICE.

What the hell is the B-stage? At one point during the show Beyonce flew across to a mini stage called the “B Stage.” It’s a stage in the middle of the floor and Beyonce performed some of my favorite songs on it. Irreplaceable (always so much fun with the crowd…if you’ve seen B then you know), Upgrade U, Video Phone, and if I remember correctly, I’m pretty sure she sang all the Destiny’s Child classics (in a medley version) on that stage too. Is it so horrible that I want to go to another show and get tickets near this stage just so I can have that experience? I’m working on it. I’m sorry if for some reason you think less of me because of it.

3BTW, anyone could have bought the on-stage seats, you just needed to get on it before they sold out (I usually get on top of my important shows so I always manage to get exactly what I want). For me, they were worth every penny of it. Because even now I can’t stop smiling. And you know what was really special too? My birthday was last week and Beyonce sang “Happy Birthday” to the audience during the show. On top of all the other amazing things, that was just the perfect ending.

I Am… Yours. Shout out to everyone on Diva Stage right and everyone else who rocked out to B at Madison Square Garden in NYC last night! NY=the best crowds.

This is a really old song (from Fighting Temptations) but I just love Beyonce’s voice “acrobatics” as some call it. It’s called “Fever.” Since this is a cover…I feel like you’ll either love it or hate it..it’s certainly more poppy than the original..Enjoy!
