I don’t know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I’d have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you’re wrong? What if you’re making a mistake you can’t undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can’t pretend we hadn’t been told. We’ve all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today’s possibility under tomorrow’s rug until we can’t anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, most intractable mistake, beat the hell out of never trying.

You fought, you loved, you lost. Walk tall.
Saturday, March 14th, 2009Izzy/Grey’ Anatomy/Sadness
Saturday, March 14th, 2009Warning: I am about to talk about this week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.
This week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy was pretty damn revealing (and I loved it). As upset as Izzy’s storyline is making me, I am loving the way it is unfolding. In case you’re behind, Izzy has officially been diagnosed (after originally being misdiagnosed by an intern) with a fatal skin cancer (metastatic melanoma) that is quickly spreading to her brain. It also only has a 5% survival rate. It basically looks like Izzy (Katherine Heigl) is not going to make it past this season (aka another cast departure). I wish it wasn’t this way but maybe it’s best for the show. Or maybe Grey’s time is coming to an end… I mean how many original cast depatures can fans really put up with? 1. 2. 3rd time may not be the charm. I hope there’s hope for Izzy. It would be really interesting to see her fight this. I absolutely loved that Izzy chose to tell Christina, of all people, first. That ending scene in that generator-air-blowing room (what the hell is that room even called?) was beautiful. Loved it.
As for Derek and Meredith drama…although it’s definitely “been there done that” I am intrigued. Looks like the tables have turned and it’s Meredith’s time to fight for the relationship. Other tidbit comments: Callie’s lesbo storyline is kind of boring me. The chief is a little brat. Christina and the red head might be interesting. George is kind of useless lately. Bailey…blah. All eyes on Izzy.
I don’t think next week’s episode is new. How annoying. Keep me coming back for more Grey’s. Please.
Grey’s Anatomy is new tonight!
Thursday, March 12th, 2009Attention Grey’s fans! Just a friendly reminder that Grey’s Anatomy is brand new tonight. Brand new. Time to get the details on Izzy’s cancer. What the hell is Derek doing? What’s going to happen with Mark? Christina and that red-head guy? Let’s find out. I’ll have quotes after…if there’s anything exciting.
Faith is a funny thing.
Wednesday, March 11th, 2009
At the end of the day, faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don’t really expect it. Its like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And its not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath away.

We’re human. We make mistakes. We misestimate. We call it wrong. People get hurt. They bleed. So we struggle over every stitch. We agonize over every suture. Because the snap judgements, the ones that come to us quickly and easily, without hesitation, they’re the ones that haunt us forever.

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009Let’s talk about Izzy Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy
Monday, February 23rd, 2009
If you are not caught up with Grey’s Anatomy this season, do not read the following. I repeat, do not read the following.
With all of the Katherine Heigl departure news (yet again), it wasn’t a big surprise when we learned that Izzy’s blood test was mixed with another patient’s, leaving her with cancer. It’s definitely an interesting story twist, but the fact that cancer is being used as an exit strategy? I don’t know how I feel about that. Honestly, I’ve always loved Katherine Heigl on Grey’s and if they’re going to get rid of her, they might as well end the show. It’s had an awesome run. Don’t get me wrong, I hope Grey’s lasts as long as possible (as long as the quality is there).
The show just can’t take another cast departure…First Isaiah Washington (Burke), then Kate Walsh (Addison)… I personally feel the fallout for any show begins when there’s drama outside of the show (aka within its cast). I remember how annoying that whole Isaiah Washington and T.R. Knight situation was and it really affected the way people saw the show. Hey, Grey’s, can we leave the drama to the script? Thanks and keep up the good work.

I wanna meet your mother. I wanna go on a date with you. I want to eat dinner at a restaurant and not look like a crazy person talking to myself. I want to walk down the street with you and hold your hand. I want to tell my friends about you. I want. I want.
Don’t wonder why people go crazy. Wonder why they don’t. In face of what we can lose in a day, in an instant, wonder what the hell it is that make us hold it together.
